A few summers ago, my husband and I went to Loch Ness for a holiday. We did a lot of the touristy stuff — monster spotting, a boat tour of the loch, and of course several trips to give shops for Nessie toys and whisky.
My favourite bit was simply wandering around near the water, and occasionally stepping off the marked trails while looking for interesting sights.
