When we bought our house just over five years ago, we did so with the understanding that we’d need to redecorate it from top to bottom. It’s been a long process, as the previous owner had screwed and glued many classical plaster friezes to the walls. Removing them meant hard, dusty work and eye-watering expense to repair the walls once the friezes were off. The last friezes were removed this week, and I’m hopeful the walls will be repaired and ready to paint early next week. And shortly after this, work should begin on the new extension to the house.

It’s all coming together.
