I’ve said in the past that you don’t need to spend a lot on a moisturiser. It’s my belief that serious investment is better placed in serums and facial oils as they’re more easily able to penetrate skin to deliver nutrients, anti-ageing ingredients and antioxidants. For me, moisturiser is about protection and comfort, and there are plenty of great ones available that don’t cost a fortune.
So why do I love Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturiser so much? At just over £49, it’s not cheap, and I have used plenty of less-expensive moisturisers that work well. Just not as well. This might actually be my Holy Grail moisturiser – no small feat as I am notoriously fussy when spending this much money on a product.
It contains a lot of wonderful ingredients like vitamins C and E, alpha lipoic acid, wheat protein, glycerine and kukui nut oil. But it’s what it does on the skin that impresses me. It’s light – almost like a lotion in a cream form. It sinks into the skin quickly and makes mine look instantly smooth, luminous and healthy. It’s a dream under makeup and I don’t need a primer to keep my foundation in place. It keeps my skin comfortable and hydrated all day and it smells lovely.
Effectiveness: 5 – hydrates, comforts, plumps, illuminates, and works well under makeup.
User Experience: 5 – it has the best texture of any cream I’ve used and has a light rose scent.
Comfort: 5 – keeps my dry, dehydrated skin happy all day.
Repurchase: Yes, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for discounts.
