Like most everyone in the world, I’ve gone crazy for matte liquid lipsticks.  They are an absolute doddle to apply, and most are easy to wear.  In the past, I’ve found matte lipsticks drying, but after testing quite a few of the liquid variety, I’m happy to recommend a few that look great and keep lips feeling comfortable.

gerard

Gerard Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick is steal at £9.50.  The colours look expensive, and it’s long-wearing without feeling drying.  My favourite shade is Serenity, a lovely pinky-brown rose that should flatter most complexions, but if that doesn’t suit, there are thirteen other shades from which to choose.

stila

Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick, £16.00, does what it says on the tin.  Well, nearly.  I got about six hours of wear before needing to reapply, and that’s with lunch and several cups of tea.  There are fifteen shades, my current obsession being Amore.

If you’re feeling spendy, By Terry Terrybly Velvet Rouge, £30, is probably the finest liquid lipstick around.  The colours are lush, and leave lips looking beautiful while feeling nourished.  Four hours of wear is the best I’ve had, but it’s such a joy to use that I don’t mind reapplying though the day.  It’s impossible to pick a favourite here.  I like Lady Bare, Cappuccino Rose, and Dream Bloom equally.

  1. The TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks are super affordable and absolutely amazing! You don’t even feel like you are wearing lipstick, and they last the entire day without any sign of wear. I would definitely recommend trying them out.
