Who doesn’t love a bargain?  Here are five products worth far more than their price.

body scrub

Garnier Body Tonic Sugar Scrub is an absolute steal at £3.49.  It smells lovely and it removes rough, dead skin better than products three times its price.  It leaves my skin feeling soft and toned – never dry or uncomfortable.  It’s my favourite for my weekly Saturday scrub ritual.

When I first purchased this product, I had no idea it wasn’t designed for my hair type (fine, dry, and slightly limp), and I’m glad, because knowing might have put me off and I would have missed the best deep conditioning treatment at this price point.  ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner costs just £4.07 for a generous 362ml bottle.  I apply it after shampooing, place a plastic shopping bag over my hair (oh, the glamour!), and wait about 20 minutes before rinsing.  I’m left with shiny, healthy hair that feels moisturised and hydrated.

burts bees

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm has been a favourite of mine for many years.  I have tubes of this stuff stashed all around my house, office and handbag.  In cooler months, I keep one in my car as well.  It soothes and protects dry, chapped lips better than any lip balm I’ve tried and it also works beautifully as a lip primer before makeup.  At £3.99, it’s a steal.

If you have fine, limp hair like I do, consider giving L’Oreal Fibrology Thickening Shampoo a try.  At £3.99, you can’t go wrong.  You’ll see a difference after one use and, after three, you’ll be amazed.  Do be aware that it coats the hair, so you’ll need to wash with a good clarifying shampoo every couple of weeks.

7 day lotion

I’m not a fan of body lotion, but for me, it’s sometimes a necessary evil.  My skin is insanely dry, especially in winter, and I’ve tried hundreds of products over the years.  None work better than Garnier Body Intensive 7-Days Lotion.  At £4.99, I can use it top to toe and not worry about my lunch money, even during the harshest days of winter.  It has a light, pleasant scent and works so well that, after a week of use, I find a can skip a day in between applications.
