I was so excited to hear Milk Makeup would be available from Cult Beauty back in January. I love ethical brands, and Milk is one that gets a lot of good press. I didn’t go too crazy with my first purchase, but I wish I had. I’m super impressed with the few things I got.

I’ve been a beeswax lip balm fan for years, but those days are behind me now that I’ve tried Kush Lip Balm. Enriched with CBD oil (another of my favourite things), it also contains loads of lovely mango, shea, and cocoa butter. But the best bit is the flavour – it’s sort of fruity, minty and sweet, and makes the balm a joy to apply. I do so frequently.

My favourite formulation for colour cosmetics has long been a cream, but over the last couple of years, stick formulas have been my go-to. They’re easy to apply and blend, and they don’t show up skin texture the way powders can. As my beloved Charlotte Tilbury Formentera stick blush has been out of stock for months, I decided to give Milk Lip+Cheek a try. I’m so glad I did. The formulation is gorgeous and looks quite natural on the skin. There are five shades available.  I chose Quickie – a pretty berry red which looks a bit scary-dark in its packaging, but gorgeous on the face. I also tried Werk, a sweet dusty rose that works with just about any lipstick colour.

The last product I tried is  Lip Colour, and was surprised at how richly pigmented it is. Of course, I went for OG Red, as I can’t resist red lipstick and wear it daily. The formulation is brilliant – creamy and light on the lips without a hint of dryness. It’s so nice that I might venture out into one of the other nine shades.

Milk products are 100% vegan as well as cruelty-free. They contain no parabens, sulphates, or mineral oil. They’re also free of talc which great for those of us with sensitive skin.
