In an effort to reduce spending, I cut way back on my skincare budget. I tried exchanging my favourite products for like-for-like cheaper alternatives and I’m sad to say that the difference in the appearance of my skin was noticeable. Over time it became more lined, dull, and textured, especially now that the weather is turning colder. So I decided to go back to the skincare my skin obviously loves and the improvement has been amazing. Skincare is subjective, and not everyone will have the same great result from a product, but if your skin is like mine – mature, slightly dry, and often dehydrated, this routine might work for you.

Every morning, I apply five to seven drops of Timeless 20% C+E+Ferulic Acid Serum onto freshly-cleansed skin. This serum helps fight free-radicals while also brightening the skin. It’s worked wonders fading an age spot on my cheek, too. I follow the vitamin c serum with Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum. It’s packed with hyaluronic acid and hydrates my skin better than any product I’ve ever tried. I follow this with Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré, which is the best moisturiser I’ve ever used. It leaves my skin plumped, perky, and ready for makeup.

My nighttime routine consists of four products, but I don’t use them all at the same time. On cleansed skin, I use Neostrata High Potency Cream twice a week. It contains 20% alpha hydroxy acid and resurfaces skin like no other product I’ve tried. If I could only have one bit of skincare to use for the rest of my life, it would be this one. I’m always delighted with my skin the morning after using it. Because this product can’t go near the eye area, I always apply a little Anti-Aging Eye Cream from Paula’s Choice. It does the job without being too heavy or rich which can lead to puffy eye bags the next morning.

On the nights I’m not using acids, I apply Paula’s Choice Intensive Wrinkle-Repair Retinol Serum. It doesn’t contain a high percentage of retinol, but it’s the only retinol product I’ve ever been able to use without any irritation. I follow this up with Paula’s Choice Omega+ Complex Moisturiser which is full of ceramics, antioxidants, and omega fatty acids. This leaves my skin feeling soothed, hydrated, and moisturised.

There are a couple of extras I use every morning and night, and while I don’t think they fall under the category of skincare, I wouldn’t be without them because their results are so good. Revitalash is nothing short of a miracle when it comes to having long, natural lashes. I’ve been using it for years and am often complimented on my lashes (ie, asked if they’re falsies). For my brows, I use Rapidbrow twice a day. Sparse eyebrows can be incredibly ageing, and this keeps mine looking full and youthful. I also apply Milk Makeup Kush Lip Balm both morning and night to keep my lips conditioned and chap-free. It’s the best tasting lip balm there is.

Addendum: Timeless Beauty is now shipping from the UK. At the time of publishing, you can use the code 15% off your order with the code LOVEUK. Paula’s Choice is also offering 15% off selected anti-ageing products – no code needed. Your discount will be applied at checkout.
