These strange clouds were all around us this afternoon. Some we shaped like giant 50s-style UFOs. A couple looked like missiles.
Just not your garden variety.
Meet Territorial Robin. He spends most of his day chasing other birds out of my back garden. He’s a bit of a ladies man, too. I’ve counted three girly birds who really seem to like him. Territorial Robin is a busy bird.
Dusk is earlier every day, but I’m not bothered. The sunsets are fantastic.
It’s a bit early for autumn weather, but not for its beautiful colours. I spotted this flower over the garden wall. I have no idea what it is, but I like it.
If you haven’t guessed, I’m a bird lover. I like them all — even the ones that don’t fly. This little guy is lucky he didn’t end up in my handbag.
In an attempt to watch baby birds last Spring, we dolled up some wooden birdhouses in hopes a nice bird family or two might decide take up residence. Despite our best efforts, there were no takers, however, a starling did hatch her eggs directly over the loft entry in our bedroom. We were relieved when our noisy house guests finally moved out.
