Kilchattan Bay

It’s been a month since we’ve been to our little flat, and I’m feeling slightly desperate to go.  I may sneak away next weekend while the rest of the family is attending Collectormania in Glasgow.  They can geek out while I chill out.  Win for everyone.

New Flat

We moved into our holiday flat last weekend, but had to run back home so that we weren’t caught by what turned out to be a fairly major storm.  We were back this weekend to relax and add the fine details.  Here is our lounge, nearly done.  The walls are white and very tall, so more artwork wouldn’t go amiss.   The bedroom is the closest to being complete.  We had a clearer vision of how we wanted it to look.  We painted several pieces of furniture for this room, and I think the time spent doing it helped us to picture it a bit better.  Well, perhaps as well as we could.  We’d only been in the flat once before!   The dining room is nearly finished – just a few more things for the wall and I believe we’re done.  This room joins a small kitchen and a private bed recess.  Mr C and I enjoyed a lovely meal from the chippy here last night.   The view outside is the real star. …

Not Long Now

With the exception of a few soft furnishings, I believe we have everything we need for our new holiday flat.  It’s been a lot of fun gathering items to create the perfect 1950’s seaside retreat we’ve dreamed about for so long, and we are looking forward to spending as much time as possible there.  I’m especially looking forward to many wonderful seafood dinners at the Kingarth pub.  I grew up eating seafood from the Gulf of Mexico, and plan to begin reliving my dietary childhood in about two weeks.

Holiday Flat

I am happy to report that our offer was accepted and we are soon to be the proud owners of a lovely little flat in Kilchattan Bay.  I took this photo from the beach, just 50 yards from our soon-to-be front door.  If everything goes to plan, we’ll take possession on the 25th of October.
