Only a few weeks to go until my gardening dreams collide with reality. At the moment, every vegetable I want to grow will go exactly to plan and look as good as (if not better than) the photo on the seed packet. There will be no weeds, no aphids, no blight, no leggy seedlings – just row after row of healthy garden perfection which will give way to multiple lunches and dinners as well as assorted bottles and jars of organised, colourful, botulism-free preserves.
If this doesn’t work, I might simply go for a haircut. There is more than one way to indulge the fantasy version of myself.
